Happy Mother's Day 2015!!!!

Empress - Happy Mother's Day!!! (by Alicia Saldenha

When I was a child, I sang this to my mother.
My teachers taught it to the class at our Catholic primary school.
I thought that it was beautiful and that it captured everything I wanted to say to the wonderful, strong, caring and nurturing lady who worked so hard to take care of me.

M-O-T-H-E-R (A Word that Means the World to Me)
Written by Howard Johnson and Theodore Morse (1915)

M is for the million things she gave me
O means only that she's growing old
T is for the tears she shed to save me
H is for her heart of purest gold
E is for her eyes with love-light shining
R means right and right she'll always be
Put them all together they spell MOTHER
A word that means the world to me

M is for the mercy she possesses
O means that I owe her all I own
T is for her tender sweet caresses
H is for her hands that made a home
E means everything she's done to help me
R means real and regular you see
Put them all together they spell MOTHER
A word that means the world to me

To my own mother and to all of you out there who love, cherish and nurture others, Happy Mother's Day!!!
We wouldn't be here and we wouldn't be the people we have become without you.

This year I'm also happy that instead of looking for a beautiful image on the internet or posting a photo, I can share some of my own artwork to accompany my Mother's Day greetings. :-)

I have recently become a fan, and then a practitioner, of fractal art. Please check out my gallery at DeviantArt when you have some time. I'm just a beginner but I love it.

Below are the YouTube links for the song I posted above.

To all of our mothers, THANK YOU. WE LOVE YOU.

Love,
Alicia
